Three Fingered Jack Hike
2009-09-26 & 27
Every year we do at least one good hike in an Oregon Wilderness area. Usually it's Mt. Jefferson, but this year we decide to hike to Three Fingered Jack.
Usually my brother Dave, my Dad Jim and I go. This year my daughter Sydney "Bear" wanted to go, so we bring her to teach her what hiking, camping and making a camp fire is all about. She had a great time, and was a real trooper with absolutely no whining. Heck, I had a hard time keeping up with her and she's only 9 years old!

Friday night we camped at Canyon Creek Campground. I found us a great site with 2 picnic tables and we had a blazin fire.

The jagged peak of Three Fingered Jack was in-your-face awesome and rose vertical directly from the meadow floor. We were the only humans to camp in the meadow that night.

Sydney and I decide to climb the cinder cone to view the lake inside.
